Beginner myself, I see no problem with the sound quality. I am even surprised to have been able to record them clearly in my voice with a breeze strong enough! However, it should be careful to always turn off the on/OFF button that is located on the small box where is the battery when it no longer used the product : I have unfortunately forgotten it, and I'm not able to use it as much as I do would not have changed the battery, which is very difficult to find. After having visited several supermarkets, I think I'm going to be forced to buy the battery missing on Amazon... In summary, I highly recommend this product for the sound quality it provides, but be very careful of the ON/OFF button and schedule a few backup batteries to purchase! the sound is not directional, it is a pity it must be in front for this to work, but it's not bad when the sameVery good sound no doubt but you need to find yourself a usb driver which is not the most simple. After having hesitated a lot with the Samson meteor mic (more expensive for almost the same features), I opted for the go mic. I am (for the moment) very satisfied. The front of the microphone is plastic, the head seems to be of good quality (Samson) and the bracket is black and heavy (which allows you to place the microphone on a table without it rocking. In this bracket is a clamp, useful, and a nut to "screw" the whole thing on a mic stand, it is super convenient! The micro has a headphone jack, a button for sensitivity, and that is all. The usb cable is provided ; I connect directly on my pc (Windows 8. 1 for my part) and I run audacity (although the box contains a cd with a software sequencer, but I like audacity it's simple). No problem of connection, compatibility or detection, the Samson is immediately recognized, awesome! I'm starting to record (guitar or voice and piano). The quality is surprising for such a small mic and a small price, unbelievable. I am the one that spent by many other recorders (zoom, in particular), much more expensive, well, the go mic wins the game with a better quality than a h1 and two times less expensive! Weird... eh yet the result is there. The noise is very well controlled, the rendering quality is really good, as much for the guitar, the piano and the voice. I can sing and play at the same time, for a great price and with a system of great simplicity. I recommend, seriously, you'll see! The meteor is certainly similar, the price difference is justified in my opinion to the level of the widest dimension of the micro and the aesthetic is more refined (chrome metal), but the go mic is really worth! Good mic, we can see the difference between the normal mode and the tele mode. I plugged it into a zoom h4n, there are settings to do to have a good sound but once done, the micro should be very good.
